Is this you?
Is your mind clouded all the time, have you got 200 things running through your head, do you struggle to concentrate, find it hard to make decisions?
Do you doubt yourself lots, low-confidence, negative thoughts, think more of others than yourself?
Are you living in the past, grieving loved ones, not dealing with your problems, involved in toxic relationships?
Is it time to stop and think about your mental health and wellbeing?
People do lots of things to help themselves feel better, retail therapy (buying clothes etc). Beauty therapy (haircut, nails, lashes etc), physical health (go the gym, running, cycling, sports etc).
These are all great things to help us feel better.
But...
Here’s a question to ask yourself.
Are some of the above things just giving you a short-term fix and masking your problems. Would dealing with your issues and being able to move on from them and leave them behind, learn from them and grow as a person not be a better solution.
Here at Self-Actualise Talking Therapy Service I provide a warm and inviting safe space to allow us to work together to achieve your goals with regards to your mental health and wellbeing.
Counselling is more about what you put into it, the more you’ll get from it. Being honest with yourself and opening up to your counsellor takes courage, but the benefits are so worth it and rewarding.
You’ll notice the title states ‘about me’ at the start, and your probably thinking ‘I haven’t heard anything about you yet’. That’s because you’re counselling journey with me is all about you.
Some clients come looking for answers from the counsellor, ask for advice or what they should do. In my opinion counselling allows the client to work all these things out for themselves with guidance from me.
You as the client have control of everything you do, what choices you make, what path you choose to take.
At the end of counselling clients sometimes thank me for what I’ve done to help them, I have to remind clients’ I was simply in the space with them, and that they did all the work.
I work with clients experiencing:
Depression
Anxiety
Grief and loss
Bereavement
Negative automatic thoughts
Low self-esteem
Low self-worth and confidence
Trauma
Self-harm
As well as a range of other mental health issues.
A little bit about me. I am an integrative counsellor which means I use different modalities of counselling to help clients reach their mental health goals. I specialise in person-centred, CBT and psychodynamic counselling which can help with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, Trauma, life changes and challenges as well as a range of other mental health and emotional wellbeing issues. I offer an empathic, trusting, non-judgemental space for clients to work with me. Why did I choose to be a counsellor?
To help clients to realise their potential, their worth, their resilience, to help clients to reflect and process things that have affected them, to work through life changes and to help clients build their own mental health toolkit for dealing with life. These are all things I’ve learnt and continue to learn on my own journey in life.
